The 97 E300D I owned for a few months was the biggest peace of crap I ever owned. Hard to say if some of it was the previous owner but all the problems were related to poor or over engineering. Hopefully, the Jap's can make the thing without a $400 turn signal relay or seats that go snap,crackle, pop or a $400 rear view mirror that's held together by dollar store, undersized plastic tabs. With MB older is better, my 85 CD is a great car and so is my 90 SDL but I think that American Motors Of Germany (AMG) has out-sourced all their engineering and parts to some elephant jockeys in India.
