Thanks for the reply - I have read about the K40 being the source of many problems.
Seeing this is not my car and owner is not too handy, is it easy to pull the K40 and inspect it - I saw pictures of burned out solder on cct board either here or on another site.
Will look at re-man ME2.0 units. It would be good to avoid replacing this especially if problem is really eslewhere!
