Accessing intake vacuum ports

I have been able to replace all worn/cracked vacuum lines and hoses except two.

Does anyone have an idea on reaching the two ports located behind the throttle bore opening with out having to remove the entire fuel distribution mechanizm. I know I could pull on the line to disengage, but reattaching them would be a b&%!h.
I can do this, but I just do not have the time now. At least until my next vacation in May. So i am looking for short cut suggestions. They may be fine but I would like to look anyway. (no I'm not a doctor either..hehe)

I found a 500SEL at the junk yard last week and finally discovered where the vac lines attached to. Getting the distribution body off(the rubber part) really was dificult because it had hardened.
Just cannot see this area with the engine intact.

I found one of the vac lines on the SEL had melted completely through. From the looks of the car, sadly, this may have been what killed the engine.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts..Dan
