If all the 500 SEC's were same then Euro & US engines should be identical.
I'd like to know but I need to spend most of my energy on getting it to run cooler before it cooks its engine

Yeah, for sure; if the engine gets cooked, then
YOU are cooked.
Maybe a good reverse flush, new coolant & hoses would not be a lousy idea at all.
If it is the original radiator, on the car, it honestly might be time for another.
I still am not sure whether the radiators are different on Euro cars, but as I said, they might be, I saw a box for a '84 (?) 190E radiator, marked "Euro car" once, in a radiator shop in SF - I don't know
Good Mercedes Benz yellow coolant running though a new radiator and hoses might have you running cooler, and for sure would give you peace of mind.
That is a good thing.
But I would guess you are still OK to go places this weekend, normal driving and so on. No long trips or anything if it were me. There are lots of things to do around there locally. Even the beach is nearby but probably crowded.
