I am sure Enrique at MR MB would liely be the perfect shop to undertake that timing chain maintenance job.

Ask him how much it would cost to pull the valve cover and look to see if it is time. If you decide to have him do it, then ask how much for a chain, guide rail and tensioners.

Everyone said about him that he does the jobs well and for a reasonable price, the labor rates are far below the dealers, and he doesn't do more than necessary.

My WAG is the job could cost from around $600-$1500 and Enrique would probably be on the low side of that figure. You might have to live on Caviar Helper that month, after a job like that, but if it has never been done, it is probably time to bite the bullet and do it.
I asked him about timing chains
He didn't seem worried!!!
He said it would rattle.

I'm hoping the engine sounded ok to him

Now after this experence with the busted plastic tvv

I was climbing the walls last night while it ran
listening
hearin things

what the heck does a rattle sound like
How can I tell it from the other sounds this engine makes.

I hear something
thought I heard more than usual
Maybe I was just in a heightened state of stress...
