From looking at the design, I don't see how it could increase "performance". Frankly, I feel most of the ads for "performance intakes and exhausts" for most cars is nothing more than cosmetics.

However, I have seen several folks report that the main reason they went to such an intake is it eliminated their problem with broken air cleaner mounts. But valve adjustments, matched injectors, and new engine mounts usually cure that problem.
