& none look as sleek n sexy as mine.

Heres a pic from curbstoner at idle
can see
1000 rpm
oil press 3 bar
note he hides the temp???

I got the car home in 3 miles
Cleared 170 today so I've used it about 150 miles

Hey thats more in 2 months than its done in 3 years
That photo definately shows a car that had a high idle issue at the time.
I wonder why the temp gauge is hidden. Good catch, but then, he could have snapped the photo when the engine was ice cold to conceal overheating issue showing up on the heat gauge.

Ah , curbstoners. A lot of them are Russians, I heard who fix up junkers and sell them. They no a lot of tricks. Maybe living in Russian taught them that?

AGREED the coupes look sexier than anything around, in any color. That is why most buyers like them. The sedans and diesels look ambassadorial, stately, formal, dignified.

I am hoping to firm a date up for the gtg at MR MB by asking Paul S and Curtis if they would be interested. Then call up Enrique and see if he can take me car in - and ask him if he would mind, if all of us showed up for a gab fest and car show on 11/3. If he says yes, then, on with the show.

Being on call, or even being selected for, Jury duty, won't affect affect you.
Only keep dialing the hotline, the Courts only work M-F 9-5, and if all the cases settle you won't be called. That used to be part of my job in the Courts being involved with all that. (San Francisco when I was there)

Your car looks beautiful. Still I would welcome the opportunity to look at it up close. Believe me, it could hold its own against any other SEC, for looks, and surpass most other cars on the road. Dont forget it was the best car Mercedes Benz sold, in '83, and back then Mercedes was the best of almost ALL cars. What other 1983 car could make that claim?

I bought a can of NEV R DULL, the impregnated wadding, today. That stuff cleans aluminum REALLY well. Especially the air cleaner on the SC, which is what I will try on mine. I gave mine away about 5 years ago, when a Norwegian guy I had met on vacation, by arrangement, who owned a SEC, visited SF and I met him there with his business friends at the Norwegian consulate.

If I remember to throw it in the car, and go to Mr MB, and you show up, for a mini gtg, some of the stuff to rub on the air cleaner and try it out.

If not remind me, and I could leave some with Enrique in a bag for you to pick up the next time you are in there.

Thank you Ernesto, CS and Charlie for the valuable information about phones, hotels, and affixing the ashtray wood.

I am hoping that Enrique will be able to fit my car in at the end of next week.
If so, and if the new wheels are on the car, I will point it south - Maybe on Tursday night?

Yah, I will check the oil before I set out.
