I remember when the Brandenberg gate was a symbol of the divided Germany. To see it now it is quite beautiful and seeing it as just a tourist attraction for its beauty is very enlightening and pleasant.

Thanks for sharing your photos of a disturbing past.

I am glad that period is over.

I remember when I was twlve (1961 or so) thinking that nuclear war with Russia was inevitable.
