And to swede, don't guess on clearances get the book and follow them strictly.

I've had a number of blocks sleeved, with complete success. The machinist leaves a step at the bottom of the bore and the sleeve bottoms against it. The cylinder head holds it at the top. The press fit of the sleeve in the block would likely hold it anyway.
