Do I have to replace the instrument cluster? The MB service manager said it would cost $1900 to get a new cluster installed. Way over priced, just to r'n'r. I'd like to fix the one I have. Sounds like a gear wheel or two, do a search.
And I'd like to know what kind of acceleration I should have from a dead stop. I have to put the pedal to the floor to get her moving. Diesels are slow, but that doesn't sound right. Then it shifts hard into 2nd and after I regain rpms I'm off to the races. Vac problem, as kerry mentioned. It's got great passing acceleration and doesn't have a problem maintaining highway speeds, it just takes awhile to get there.
I guess that's enough for know. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
