Are you certain the switch is unlocked? If so, the latch is cable operated, and there is an adjustment wheel on the latch inside the glove box to allow you to tighten the cable. You must be able to open the glove box in the first place, however, and then remove the box liner. Try pushing the switch and pulling the glove box door down at the same time. This will work if the latch cable is close to being functional. If it doesn't work, you can try pulling out the lock and switch mechanism and operating the cable manually.
