Agreed. I let mine settle in a 55 gallon translucent plastic barrel for 2 weeks, then pump good stuff off the top (usually leaving 5-10 gallons junky oil and water on the bottom) into a 55 gal metal barrel, then heat up to 150F (with open bung hole for evaporation of water), allow to cool and settle one more week, then heat again to 120F, pump first 5 gallons off the bottom and discard, then filter the rest through a sequence of 25 micron restaurant cone filter, then 1 micron sock filter. This will take out the water and particulates. I have my heating barrel insulated for energy efficiency.

Now make sure you have a 2-tank system in your car that will heat the oil to 150F before it hits the injectors, and better yet, before it hits the lift pump and IP.

Good luck!
