If the alternator rectifier diodes are shorted verse open, you'll have issues until the alternator is disconnected from the system, including your battery charging effort. How do you know your battery even took the charge? The charger with shorted alternator diodes is going to show a huge load, and the battery isn't going to charge and will most likely to go dead in short order. the window lift motors and the wipers are high current draw users, your alternator is a big hole your battery current is flowing INTO, rather than out of. Not surprising to see them inoperative, radio probably works and lights are really dim, no?

Do you have a digital VOM for troubleshooting?
