The non-turbo 2.5 has around 90HP IIRC, I drove a 190 2.5 5 speed for around 5 years as a daily driver. It was a rocket ship compared to a 240D and it would routinely deliver 36-38 MPG on the open road. The 201 chassis is a bit cramped, especially for taller driver (like over six feet tall) - I currently have a 91 300D 2.5 turbo and its a much more comfortable long distance highway car. It consistently returns 34-36 MPG on the highway.
