I would like to know if the bulb assembly on a 95-99 would plug into a pre 95-99 W140, specifically my 1993 400SEL.

The 95-99 assembly fits into the body work, but the older W140's have a different bulb housing, so theoretically, If I were to buy the bulb assembly for the 95-99 models, I could simply plug them into my car. Anyone know if this would work?
