John, Thanks for the reply.
Do you, or does anyone else have a picture of the solenoid in place?
I had the car on the lift yesterday, and did not see anywhere obvious where the wire would plug in.
I just finish servicing the transmission (new vcv, modulator, dashpot, filter, flush and adjustment) and the car shifts amazingly well. It's a shame to not have the kickdown working and be perfect.
BTW, I highly recommend kicking down for a new vcv before doing anything to adjust. I paid something like $110.00 for mine and it worked perfectly right out of the box (vacuum curve of 10 to zero at WOT). I have tried on several cars to adjust old VCV's and never could get everything to work just right.
With this new unit, and the modulator pressure adjusted to factory psi spec. Adjustment to the bowden cable does everything to get the car to shift right.
My 2 cents, but I have spent years trying to get my '83 to shift right, and was never able to achieve what I could in an afternoon on the '82.
