Thanks for the reminder.
I visited Amsterdam as a (relatively) young and innocent 18 year old in 1970. My buddy and I stayed in a youth hostel near the train station in the middle of the Red Light district.
What a hoot.
I remember a sign in the windows of all the places - something like "kamen to hoor" or something like that. Anyone know what that is?
I have fond memories of the girls in the windows, the french fries with mayo, and the Heincken brewery tour, with the "all you can drink" samples.... I went drunk to the next stop of the visit, the Van Gogh museum -
at 11AM.
Didn't go to any of the pot-smoking clubs, or for that matter, the girls in the windows - like I said - (relatively) young and innocent.
Fun place at that time.
