Hitman, my factory engine manual says to use a screwdriver to just pry the seal out, with a rag to protect the crank. there is an install tool 601589031400, but it's just a big washer/spacer that you put over the seal and screw on with the damper bolt. A little oil and some gentle pushing around the seal will do the same job.
If you are losing all the oil you mentioned above through that seal, it would make a pretty big mess under the car. A quart goes a very long way when it is dripping and running underneath the chassis.
