A great source for easy wiring is Painless Wiring. They make universal wiring harness kits that are quite easy to work with and very complete. For a Domestic build its a no brainer.
I'm guessing the 4.11's are going to be a bit steep with the 617! No wonder you spin the tires. I am guessing you will end up with 3.23's or so. Maybe taller, that F100 is probably lighter than the SD donor car.

Actually I was speaking of the 4:11s in the 66 chevy that was posted. My truck is running 3.27s with 275/60R15s, should work out to be about the same as the 205/70R14s and 3:08 gears in the 300SD, maybe a little taller. The 53 F100 should weigh in at almost 1K under the total weight of the 300SD.
