Yes, I'll second the 'welcome'. Lots of discussion on jacking points here. Do a 'search' and you'll see what I mean.
I like to use the unibody frame members in front, with a piece of wood, just where they stop at the wheel arch, and the subframe mounts at the rear, under the bolthead, for jackpoints. Sometimes I'll use the lower 'A' arms, front or rear, and have on occasion used the front subframe yolk. I thought I read that some use the rear differential too.
If you scroll down a bit in this thread (esp. post #11), you'll see my '86 SL on jackstands, where it has rested since December '07, and is still on them. The front ones are under the very frontmost ends of the frame rails, so I could drop the subframe easily. The rear jackstands are under the subframe mounts.
