Buy some gorilla tape or heavy-duty 3M duct tape, squirt some grease in there with a turkey baster and wrap the torn boot up. I did this to my own rear axle 2000 miles ago. I also zip-tied the ends.
I forgot you did that ... that's cool that it's still holding up. I'm glad my axles are relatively new.
