I am a huge cardboard box user also. Easy to slide in and out on, and just throw them away when super nasty. I'm not always on pavement either, so I really need it.
In winter I went to army/navy store and got a pilots coverall to work in. Kind of a mechanics "onesy"...
In summer I had some great camo pajama pants. Looked like camo pants but were super thin and cool. Alas, they shredded last week doing yard work....
