There's nothing wrong with Mann, Bosch, and all the others that have taken criticism, if your interval is keeping things clean anyway.

If you are running your oil rough-service, in any fashion, then the filter material becomes far more important. A clean filter and oil of any brand and description does the engine more good than leaving dirty materials inside instead.

For people who don't ask their oil to go obscene distances, there's no filter that doesn't do an adequate job except a dirty, mistreated one.
