Some places might require you to go through training in order to get a permit to carry/use...

She if she's into "Shock & OW!" - training sometimes involves getting shot by a tazer so you know EXACTLY what is going to happen to the perp...

Ask any officer that's carrying a tazer...he KNOWS from PERSONAL EXPERIENCE what the perps' going through (and it makes him even more happy it's not HIM on the end of those wires!)
