I recently acquired a 2001 Land Rover Discovery that has a hard life to keep it short, I got it mega cheap so if it goes to the scrap yard it no love lost. It runs perfect, new tires and will be a good point a to point b car but I know that mechanically I will have issues down the road. I discussed this with another forum member and agreed that I don't want to spent my weekend chasing a coolant leak or figuring something out with the beast.

But after cruising in it and doing a little off road I'm getting that feeling of love like I did with my 300TE, if it needs some attention I don't mind getting dirty and taking care of the problem unlike my other cars where I have no affection for the car and don't care who works on it or what is done. I am prepared for the truck to be a cash hog but it has such a nice cruiser appeal that I may keep it and endure the repair jobs out of love.

OTOH, I may shine it up and get a Volvo or MB wagon.
