I'm running a 2.47 diff from an 83-84 380SE, in my 300CD. Although some have said it would be too tall, and would lack power that is not what I am finding at all. In fact I hope to find another 2.47 to put in my SD
. I am also running the vogtland springs which as well as really improving handling has dropped the height of the car, and reduced drag... I hope.
