That liability release form is, on a CA title, attached to the title itself. You have like 5 days from sale date to mail it. I would go ahead and mail one in to the DMV anyway; if you know the buyers address make sure and fill it in. That was important, I recall. Send a copy to the office sending you the tickets.

You as the seller have the obligation to provide all the information in a timely manner. Sorry to sound like a DMV employee there, but believe me, I have heard all this b4. Nip this in the bud now, or they will nip you.
