I have recently bought a 1980 280e euro 4 speed and cannot figure out why is there a big difference in hp between US and Euro versions. US has 139 and Euro 182 hp. I know that my euro has has 9:1 compressiion ratio while US has 8:1. Could the low compression ratio and low octane gasoline in the US cause such a big gap in horsepower?
