If the squeal remains, something else may be causing the squealling. A bad bearing somewhere maybe.
That seems pretty cheap. Had a mechanic go over it yet? What does the tranny oil looke like (for instance!)

ditto. If it gets quiet it will also allow you to hear the rest of the engine, etc.
