You might want to skip that car and look around here for one. My SDL came fromNorth Carolina and has no rust plus it cast me only $2000.00

With the reversed exchange rate you can get a good deal down here.

If you have fallen in love with this particular car, I would do the Diesel Purge, repalce the line to the turbo as it is the wastegate line immediately and blow out the gunk in the ALDA lines. a 300SD is much faster than a 240D and can keep up with traffic. You also are looking at a 1985, which has a 2.88 rear end instead of the 3.07:1 in older cars. If you want more power and a smoother engine, look for the 300SDL or the 1987 300D with the OM603 six cylinder. I get more power and better fuel economy in the 300SDL than I ever got in the 300SD.
