Drive on water instead of coolant and you will notice engine operating temps drop noticably. Advantages of anti-freeze coolant include higher boiling point elasticity, lubrication of internal parts, less chance for rust and scale buildup, etc. Otherwise water works better at keepin operating temps low..... ask any Texan if ye dont believe me.
