well now ! the 300 is now finally on jack stands with the pan off the transmission. i have the printed instructions about how to take off the mount bolts and drop the tranny about 2 inches or so and then pry it over. sounds easy enuf. . .
i attempted to remove the four cross member to body bolts. ya rite. the internal, un-obtainable rusty threaded nuts broke loose from the body and of course they turn right along with the bolts. not just one, but all four. what next ? or am i trying to remove the wrong bolts ? if these are the ones that need to come off to lower the trans. and crossmember together then im basically screwed. cut the heads off the bolts, cut off or at least open up the side of the body caviety so i can remove the "nuts" or whatever they are and then replace the nuts with REAL nuts and flatwashers ?
now that im typing this, it sounds like the only way to do it short of burning off and replacing a couple parts of the body (frame) where the nuts need to be. that would NOT be a fun job at all. and besides its 85 with about 90 % humidity and the f$#@ mosquitos are hungry.
any other ideas that would be easier ?
haap please !
im too old for this crap !
