The dash wood kit was an AMG thing - my 1987 AMG had that type of wood kit (my dash was cracked, so the wood kit went with it - the door panel still remains, however). I always figured it was an aftermarket kit, but there's a w124 Hammer on ebay right now with the same dash kit (
