Nothing wrong with the filter housing mounts. Upon closer inspection, it looks like there is simply not enough glue between the pleats, and there is no other reinforcement. Both the top and bottom of the filter were cracked like this. No other damage is visible. It just looks like it probably split when I put the cover on and tightened it down. This one says Made in USA
Poor design. I went to Autozone to get a FRAM, and apparently they don't sell them for this model anymore?? so I had to get an STP.
