My 1972 350SL 4.5L has blue injectors.
Manual says these could be:
0 280 150 015 - Injection valves without protective sleeve
0 280 150 024 - Injection valves with protective sleeve
0 280 150 036 - Injection valves with protective sleeve & double sealing ring
Protective sleeve is 000 987 19 45 (Don't know if I have these or not)
Injectors for M116 engine appear to have similar specs (380cc/min 37.3 lb/min, 76HP, Tested at 300 Kpa), but they are color coded Yellow. Ending numbers are 013, 022 & 034. Sleeve is 000 987 18 45.
Finally to my question
:- Is it possible to use the M116 injectors in an M117 engine? If so, which protective sleeve would I use? I would like to buy a set of injectors as spares and there is a set of yellows available.
Anyone know what the difference IS between the yellow and blue?
