If you ground the connector at "B" does the fan engage?

I'm not sure about the '82 but most Benz's use a relay to activate the auxilary cooling fan. Does the fan engage when you turn on the A/C compressor?

The sensor acts as a ground trigger to activate the relay. You will not detect any voltage using a voltmeter.
