I agree with FI. Temporary installments of some hydraulic fluid may be ok for testing, or getting home etc..
Its not about rotting the spheres or lines either.
the viscosity is totally different and while it may help seal some things up b/c of this property, it may have been the cause of that chain failure of said car due to imposed stress on the chain.
the gear for the hydr. pump was not intended for increased duty by the pump. This is evident in removing the pump and looking at the cheesy little knub that spins the pump and the bearing that the gear rolls on. Its placement on the intermediate length of chain b/w IP gear and cam gear is another red flag that stressing this pump is very bad idea
