Sex and the rental market

I have two apartments available for rent 9/1. One is a studio and the other a one bedroom, both in central Denver in a desirable neighborhood. Our market is typically single people 19-35. I placed an ad on Craigslist on Monday giving the locations and stating that I would be showing each one twice yesterday. I showed the apartments to approximately 30 people. 27 women, 3 men. Of the 3 men, one was the husband of a woman looking at the apt and another was looking for his sister. So, in reality, I showed them to 29 females and 1 male.
I'm pretty sure the ratio of males to females in Denver is not 29 to 1.
Yesterday was not an anomaly. The sex ratio of respondents to our ads (which are always placed early in the month) is consistently skewed in favor of females.
What's the explanation?
