Hand Primer Pump

I'm having trouble reconciling your start problem...If you are getting Fuel when
you "Crack" the Injectors...AND your Glow System functions correctly...The
only thing that will prevent it from starting is lack of compression.
EDIT: Whooops...How long since the Valves were adjusted?(That might just be
the compression problem!) I would check the Valve clearances before chasing
any other alleged faults.

If, however the old primer pump is allowing air in the system(AND if it's leaking
THEN air is getting back in the same way)you can "Crank"through 5 or 6 new
Batteries and never achieve "Start".
Once you manage to get all of the air out of the fuel system it should run O.K.
