I have contacted Grundy, and another classic car insurer. Good prices, but far too many restrictions.
All currently licensed Virginia tags, regular and antique are required to carry insurance. Virginia has a random search, plus the insurance companies narc on you if you drop the policy.

They do NOT care what kind of insurance, I've had regular auto insurance on a car with antique plates, and I currently have Grundy insurance on my 560SEL which has standard plates....
