As Jeremy said........you need a Diesel API rated oil ie. CJ-4, or any one that starts with a "C" rating and states on the bottle for diesel engines. Also the blend should be a heavier blend ending in 40 for summer ie. 15w40 for dino or 5w40 for synthetic.

The oils designed for diesel use have additives and dispersants that keep the carbon soot in suspension. Without them the carbon clumps into a gooy sludge.......not good! Stick with a Diesel API rated oil no matter what.....
