Its not worth messing with your current marraige, we are not on this earth long enough to help **everyone**.

What is your current wife concerned about ? you hopping into bed with the ex ? -if thats the case, then this "problem" is just going to come back again later, next time you want to leave town. It sucks that this happens/people feel like this but they do.

I'm guessing the current wife doesnt want you to get involved/on the recieveing end of more flack from the ex (becuase ex's love to do that =) Which is noble of her, but changes the situation a bit- this can be argued around-

I also agree with the "take the wife with you" part - you'll have someone to talk to if possible. and the "hire movers" - I have moved myself the last few times and when someone told me how cheap it was to hire a few dudes (look up "two men and a truck" -type places), I kicked myself for not doing it. And I'm not some rich Mbshopper either (I drive a $2k vw...)

Thats an 18h drive - whoa, 2 days unless you push it straight through....give that some thought too. If you are loading and unloading that that'll take more than 2 days, which is a full weekend and I don't get many of those to myself.

You are fully justified telling your ex "sorry, I have too much going on at home (new life, new people, new obligations) to give 2 or 3 days for you."
