The company "Flow" has a water jet available that can cut 3D parts.

The "blank" I mentioned is just a block of aluminum or other material before it's cut.
Do you know if that is how alloy wheels are made? I thought they were cast for some reason. Maybe it would be less expensive to make it in two parts?
