Question s320 center lights and misc technical q's

Hi there,

I've taken on my father's 1995 s320 with 315k miles, because.. well.. it hurts to say why. I totaled my regular daily driver (a modern, british sports car with 400 hp) through a seriously stupid lapse of judgement. I drive a 1984 300sd turbo diesel on the weekends to the beach as my surf wagon Grew up with benz's!

The car seems to be running well. I found instructions on replacing the thumbwheel lights, will give that a try this week. However, I'm having trouble finding instructions on how to get to the lights behind the a/c controls. Specifically, the light behind the front passenger lcd and the center thumbwheel. Any help there? Also, which lights are inside these cars? I'm thinking about using LEDs instead - I replaced all the interior lights in my diesel with them.

What else can I / should I do with this car, regarding maintenance? For example, I did steering flush, oil change, and fuel filter change on my diesel recently. My now RIP sports car had regular throttle body and MAFS cleaning. Do these apply to the s320?

What else should I check? Everything seems to be working okay, except the radio (the entire audio unit, tape, cd, etc, send NOISE throughout the car), and the automatic trunk suction/soft-close feature is somewhat rickety (dad was rear ended a couple years ago, it's been functioning strangely since). The front seatbelts don't retract easily, unless you guide them in.

Lastly, this car isn't the best "image" vehicle for a younger guy like me.. it really looks like my father's mercedes, haha. Any recommendations for something fun and curvy? I'm really attracted to the older convertibles... thoughts crossed my mind from spitfires to 280/230 sl's from the 1960's. I don't care about speed. After that last accident, slow and steady for me

Thanks for your time!
