If your 250 doesn't have AC, then that second 8 amp fuse probably won't do anything but occupy space.

My 250 transmission always starts out in first then quickly shifts to second. I don't remember how it shifted before I had the trans overhauled, 9 years ago. I've heard there's a modification that can make the trans shift through all the gears. I also have a 1972 250C that I'm putting back on the road soon. I'll see how that one shifts.

Does your trans delay all upshifts or just 2 to 3? There is a shift control rod connected to the accelerator linkage that can be adjusted but it affects all upshifts. On these cars even ignition timing adjustments can affect the shift points.
