I use them on my w123's. I've been pulling the plugs and checking periodically and they are fine so far. I've heard that condensation can collect inside the tubes if capped, but I haven't seen evidence of that in mine so far.

I've read that some guys coat the tubes with grease and then put the caps on. I will probably end up doing the same.

I think the caps keep stuff from getting inside the tubes and IMO they make the rockers look more finished than having open holes.
