when I was checking around for an engine last year, I thought I could get a crate engine from the dealer. NLA. this was for the 617.952.

thats when I started looking around at my other options.

about the same time there were a couple 240D crate engines on e-bay. one went for $1800.00. these were long blocks.

there were three HP ratings on the OM616...

1) Not much power
2) Even less power
3) Not nearly enough power!! 240D w/auto

Anyone that thinks a 240D is slow drives too fast.
