I did try the stethoscope method, and I didn't come up with anything nothing I checked seemed to be making the noise.
I did replace the pitted plate. Just posting some pictures.
I tried taking a video but you can't really hear the noise on the video. I might be paranoid, but I don't want to have a catastrophic failure because I ignored something that was warning of a problem.
