First impression: Zaino
After using Zymol for years, I wanted to try something else, and after seeing all of the Zaino posts, I figured why not. I ordered the new ZFX, Z5, & Z6. One word of caution for all before I continue. do not mix the ZFX with the polish you choose to use it with before you are sure you are going to use it. I made that mistake. After all, I read the back of the box that the ZFX came in, and it said nothing about pre-mixing and using it at a later date. It simply states, if you do not use all of the polish within a 12 hour period, you should discard the remainder. It wasn't untill I read the many pages of information that came with the polish that I realized I had to toss about half a bottle of the Z5 because I did not use it the same day--I wanted to but the weather did not allow me to.
Nevertheless, I washed the car using Dawn. I then determined that I did not want to use the clay bar because the paint did not seem to measure up to the caly bar directions. I therefore used the ZFX and the Z5. The polish goes on like soft butter. I was able to do the entire car in ten minutes. Like Zaino states "a little goes a long way." I let that sit for about 30 minutes. It came off as easy as it went on. The shine after the first application was amazing. Not only did it shine, but the finish felt like silk. I was amazed. I then applied a second coat. I sprayed the Zaino applicator with the Z6 spray and went to work. I again let the polish sit for 30 minutes. Using a clean towel I wiped the car to a shine that I never thought I would see. After all the polish was off, I used a micro-fiber cloth to buff the finished. Simply amazing!
In short, I was extremelly impressed with the Zymol product line. I never thought I would find a product that would exceed that quality. I must say I have. I say that for several reasons; 1. the shine is slightly more brilliant, but the feel of the finish far exceeds that of the Zymol Carbon; 2. putting two coats on is as easy as putting on coat of the Zymol. I will not pass judgement on the longetivity yet since it is my first time using the Zaino, but if it last as long as the Zymol, I will stick with the Zaino. Using the Z5--swirl mark remover--even on a new car does wonders for the finish. Granted neither polish is cheap, if it protects the paint the way Zaino states, it is well worth the money. The ease in application makes it worth the money in of it self. I only wish I did not waste a half of bottle because of poorly written instructions. Other than that, I am completely satisfied, and I would recommend this product to anyone looking to try something different. I will let you know how it stand up in about a month.
Regards,
John Cappuccilli
P.S. To Zaino: please state on the packaging of the ZFX that the product should be mixed the same day of application. Your directions on the package are ambiguous, and it is not easily found in all of the literature sent with the polish. This would benefit everyone--I hate to waste money.
