After working at my wife for along while I got her to enter the MB world from her dumb Toyota..... her history of cars includes a Chevy Corsica, Buick Century, and Toyota Rav4.....yeah. She refused a W123 and W126, and didn't really want a diesel unless it provided exceptional mileage vs a gasser......so that left it to a 190d 2.2 or 2.5....which are rare, and over priced, and way too small. Soo....I drifted over to the W124....300D was considered, but are too expensive to aquire.....so I looked for a 300E....and found a Nevada rust free one here locally with 133k on it. She likes it (just not the maintenance cost)....so I guess its a success. Its a very nice car...comfortable, quiet, and fun to drive Not a fan of the gasser needyness though......however its interesting to work on and learn something new. I've done quite a bit on it and its been reliable....we've put about 1,000 miles on it already and have only had it about a month. Mileage isn't great.....I got 18.5 when I was driving (but I'm a maniac)....she'll probably get 21-24ish....she drives very gently....however, premium is 70 cents less a gallon....so its even still a little cheaper to run than my SD.
